This one is for my North County work-from-home friends who either get a little extra time on their lunch break to sit down, or have no time and need to DoorDash an order to their house.
Some of my favorite lunch options in the area include:
Choose from the location off Vista Way or in Encinitas; DoorDash should deliver to you if you live in Vista, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Encinitas, or Solana. The menu has various healthy and hearty options with California-fresh flavors packed with produce, well-seasoned meats, and homemade focaccia. I order a Salmon Bowl, Mediterranean Bowl, or the Chimichurri Steak Sandwich. Do not skip a cookie! If you go into a location they are served warm & fresh from a hot stone. They travel/deliver well and are very soft and full of flavor. My favorite is the double chocolate chip.
Mendocino Farms is another quick-casual healthy lunch spot with a modern farmhouse aesthetic. On top of their delicious salads with generous portion sizes, they have incredible juices and lemonades on the menu. They also serve a modest selection of beer on tap and California wine if you are dining in. Located in Carlsbad’s Bressi Ranch neighborhood, this is a great spot for lunch solo, with a small group, or with your family on the weekends. They do offer patio seating, but more often than not I am getting a salad delivered to my door. I order a. Superfood Quinoa Ensalada or a Not-So-Fried Chicken Sandwich as is. Their dressings are super flavorful and feature spicy-creamy options like Chipotle Ranch.
Harumama has many locations in San Diego county, and I am delighted they opened one in Vista Village! They have a great lunch special available when dining in or when ordering via DoorDash: Monday-Thursday 11am-3pm you can order one Ramen bowl and one side for only $17.95. It’s a solid deal considering a regular Ramen ala carte is $17-20. I love that when you order it delivered, they take care to separate the broth and noodles/toppings so you can reheat then combine when it arrives. No soggy noodles here! I order the lunch special with High Noon Ramen, Bao Bao Bun, and add a side of cold Kimchi.
